Retired Solo Traveler? How to Make Friends? Join a Pottery Studio!

Being a solo nomad means if you want some company .....you just gotta werk it and take inspo wherever you can get it.

Anyone else watching the Great Pottery Throwdown on Max? I AM! Warning many seasons are available.

Yep, so I signed up for some pottery studio time while housesitting in the East Bay of San Francisco. $100 got me six days and 25# of clay.

Potters are very nice people! I've had some wonderful chats while wedging clay, throwing and cleaning up.

I had taken pottery classes in '86 when I moved to Chicago. Haven't touched clay since. The memory muscles are coming back but a 1x1 is being scheduled.

Because of my housesitting schedule I couldn’t sign up for a 6-8 week class.

Here are a couple of photos. It's hard to take photos or video with a tripod on a wheel in an open studio. So this is what I have to share...the lumps of failure will be shared at some point - just have to remember to clean my hands, take a photo and then pack it up.
