Valparaiso, Viña del Mar, Santiago and wine country! What a day in Chile!

Just so we get it right – it is pronounced OO-SWAY-Ya and is in the Argentinian province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands. Just south of Ushuaia at Cape Horn the Pacific meets the Atlantic. Besides Antarctica – there is nothing further south.

Driving between housesits, I took my time from Newport Beach to Marin County. I love driving along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), and avoided LA traffic! Winning!

As a solo nomad, travel planning takes about 40% of my time. If you’re or organized, like to plan and can make informed decisions - you’d love it too. The luxury of time is just one benefit of traveling in retirement.

Being a solo nomad means if you want some company .....you just gotta werk it and take inspo wherever you can get it. Anyone else watching the Great Pottery Throwdown on Max? I AM! Warning many seasons are available.

Sydney - iconic and hidden. Depending where you live, traveling to Australia can take a long time. All I can say is - it’s worth it. Having visited many times since 1981 - you are rewarded with a country with great food, people and places.

It was 1981. After a 20-hour flight, including an unscheduled stop in Fiji, we landed in Adelaide, South Australia. I was 21 and continuing my college experience at Flinders University of South Australia.
